15 Cozy Fall Mantel Decor Ideas for a Warm Fireplace

Fall is finally here, and I’m already thinking about cozy corners, warm colors, and of course—a beautiful fall mantle.

If you are looking for a few simple ideas to make your fireplace feel more autumn-ready, I’ve put together 13 fall mantle decorations that I think you’ll love. From simple and neutral to warm and rustic, there’s something here for every style.

Pre-lit birch trees mantel 

The pre-lit birch trees as a base made creating that full, cascading look SO much easier.

I placed the fall stems through the branches and kept layering until it felt full and overflowing. The little lights throughout make it even prettier and more whimsical .

Easy pumpkin & mum arrangement

This is one of the easy ways to decorate your mantel.  For this  i used:

•  2 large pumpkins, 2 medium pumpkins, 8 small pumpkins
•  2 small mum plants
•  Any faux fall florals or branches

If you’re feeling a little extra like me, go ahead and add a few more fall touches to the room! I swapped out some more fall florals in a vase, rust color pillows and added some faux pumpkins on the hearth.

TV-friendly vertical fall installation

This one proves you don’t need a huge mantel to make a huge impact.

For this design, I mounted the fall pieces up either side of the TV using Command cord-organizing strips—a great way to create height and drama while working with limited space. The finishing accessories are beautiful finds from Kirkland’s and pull the entire look together. 

Simple wreath + garland base

Use a wreath and matching garland as your base and you’ll have a beautiful Fall mantel with those items alone. 

I added these ravens from Mackenzie Childs to give a little spookiness, but you can also switch those out for pumpkins or large acorns.

By starting with this base, everything comes together and you can add any extra pieces that make your mantle look like home for fall.  

Organic layered rustic look

I went with an organic layered look this year, using an aged leaf and branch garland, dried hydrangeas and pheasant feathers. I enjoy incorporating more rustic charm into my decor during the autumn season. 

Zero-cost foraged mantel

It all started with a grapevine wreath… and I didn’t spend a single penny creating this fall mantel! I simply shopped at my home and stepped outside to gather a few beautiful pieces from nature. I love how the muted fall tones, dried florals, and natural textures come together to create a mantel that feels warm, collected, and perfectly at home in my space. Not every seasonal refresh needs to mean buying something new—sometimes the prettiest decor is what you already have, paired with a little creativity and a walk outside. This soft, muted take on fall is exactly my style… cozy, timeless, and full of the beauty of the season.

A little mix of backyard branches, pumpkins, and my favourite golden pheasant. It all came together to create this cozy autumn display. Sometimes the best decor is simple, natural, and collected with love.

For this I used  a favorite fall wreath, foraged branches, and the perfect pumpkin .These simple touches that welcome a new season.

Here’s a Fall Mantel decoration Step by step! 

Here’s what I used to create the mantel look:

• 4 tan leaf picks
• 2 gold cluster tall stems
• 1 large green/orange bush stem, cut into pieces
• 3 pumpkins, I used rattan
• 4 green leaf picks to fill in.

Three-step luxurious layered garland

Everyone loves a full, luxurious looking garland on their mantle and here are three easy steps to create one yourself.

• Lay down a full green base layer.
• Add your larger garland on top and pull pieces of the base through it to start blending.
• Weave in a smaller, detailed garland and pull the first two layers through it. Keep it asymmetrical for a more natural look, and save your garlands every year to build an even richer layered look next season.
